The Bulldogs concluded their regular season, wining seven out of seven fixtures for February and March and being crowned as NBL Division Three South Champions. February saw the Bulldogs beat Oxford Hoops in an epic encounter, dubbed as the game of the season by both clubs.
March saw the team faced with numerous injuries which saw the team play with just seven players against Surrey Rams and eight against London Warriors away. Atif Khan will miss the remainder of the season due to a severely sprained knee suffered against London Elite II.
Player-Coach Chuck Duru on the February and March results: “I have been extremely happy and proud with how we closed out the regular season. We were clinical against Surrey Rams and London Warriors both offensively and defensively, which gives us great confidence and momentum heading into the post season. Everybody is locked in and we head into the playoffs ready to give our best effort, in the hopes of reaching the final in Manchester. Its unfortunate that we will not have Atif for the playoffs as he was playing some of his basketball prior to his injury but he remains in good spirits and still on the bench encouraging his teammates.”
The Bulldogs return to Copthall on 6th April for their first round fixture which is yet to be announced by Basketball England. The match will be at the usual time of 3pm and tickets will go on sale on Monday 1st April.
