Barnet Bulldogs Basketball Club are thrilled to announce its latest milestone as they proudly introduce their senior men’s team joining the ranks of the Senior National Basketball League (NBL) Division 3. With a history of commitment to excellence and a passion for the game, this expansion is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire organisation.
The Bulldogs will compete in NBL3 South, which features teams from London, Oxford, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Surrey.
The decision to enter the NBL Division 3 is a natural progression for the Bulldogs, reflecting their strong track record of fostering talent, promoting teamwork, and nurturing a culture of sportsmanship. The club’s leadership is confident that their seasoned players, along with the guidance of our experienced coaches, we believe will make a substantial impact in the league.
The club is putting together an exciting roster, which will feature a mixture of ex-Bulldogs, local talent and junior players stepping up to the senior team. The Seniors will play their home games at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre, with the fixtures to be announced later this month.
Paloma Polson: “From the day I started the club, I have always wanted to provide a progression route to all those that wanted to take basketball to the next level. Over the years, we have nurtured many talented players that they have played not just in this country, but also in Europe and the USA, but we have never had the chance to have a men’s team in the National League, up until now. We are fortunate that some of our old alumni (from the Dream team) have got together again to start a Bulldogs men’s team. It fills me with pride to welcome home these incredibly talented players!”
Neville Polson: “It has been a dream of mine to have a men’s team at the club, in the National League, but not just any men’s team, a team that truly believes in the Bulldogs Philosophy.
After all these years the boys with whom I started my coaching career and after all the competitions that we won, the some of the alumni group, who were known by everybody at the club as “the dream team”.are back with the same drive and ambition that they had. They are going to showcase the talent that this country has!
As the Bulldogs makes their debut in the NBL Division 3, they invite fans and supporters to join them on this exciting journey. Stay tuned for updates on game schedules, player profiles, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content through the club’s official social media channels and website.
