We are pleased to announce the signing of former junior player, 6’3 Forward Bintan Delano for the 2023/24 season.
Bintan returns to his childhood club, where he began his basketball journey, a part of the infamous Bulldog “Dream team”. He previously played for London Elite in the 2021/22 season in NBL3 South, where he led them to promotion to NBL2 after going undefeated in league play.
Bintan returns to the court after suffering an Achilles rupture during the NBL3 National Playoffs, which forced him to miss the entire 2022/23 season. Fortunately, he is back to full health and looking to play a key role in the Bulldogs upcoming NBL campaign.
Bintan on rejoining the Bulldogs: “Over a year ago, I tore my Achilles in the middle of a playoff game and to most, that would have been the end. But after months of rehabilitation with re-direction rehab, I am excited to be joining the team, where I first learnt how to play the game over 12 years ago. What makes it even better is having the opportunity to do it with some of my closest friends, who were also there at the beginning. This truly feels like the start of something great!”
Coach Neville Polson on Bintan’s return: “What can I say? The power house of enforcement is back home! Bintan is a player most players and coaches love to have. For me as his coach, I fell in love with his defensive ability to match up with anyone. I remember one game where we needed him to mark a highly ranked player and boy, did he do his job! He was relentless, running all over the court and never allowing their player a second to breath! From that day on, when ever I felt a player on the other team was getting hot… I let the big man out!”
Welcome home, Bintan!
