Community Sessions
For the last 20 years The Barnet Bulldogs have delivered a range of Community Basketball activities across all areas of the LBB, in doing so it has become an essential part of the sporting and youth development culture within the Borough for young people.
It supports those wanting to learn the basic skills of basketball and provides them with a development pathway that offers local, national and international development. It also teaches young people how to lead a positive and healthy life style and encourages them to commit to a pathway of learning.
During holiday periods the Bulldogs provides a whole range of diversionary activities for vulnerable young people who are continually at risk of the many anti-social activities that threaten young people’s safety, activities such as drugs, alcohol and solvent abuse, and gun, gang and knife crime amongst young people, which is on the increase across the whole of London, not just the LBB.
Over the years the Bulldogs Community programs have been directly responsible for reducing the levels of street crime in targeted areas of the LBB by as much as 23%.
